Hangar49
We talk about different airstrips to visit, the ups and downs of flying in the Pacific Northwest, and all the fun events you can find here! We also like to discuss aviation music, movies, books, and websites. Basically we are just a bunch of fun loving pilots that have a passion for aviation just like you!

Well we made it to the day that the U.S. government reminds us about the money that we could have used to pay for more flying. Those sadistic bureaucrats! Welcome to Episode 8.

In this episode we talk about Learning to Fly Day. You can find out about it at http://www.learntoflyday.com/

Destination of the week is Bonners Ferry Idaho. The Airport is actualy called Boundary County Airport. Drop by Northern Air and tell them we said hello: Boundary County Airport

Crossing John

Welcome back to Hangar49 the podcast that is geared for Pacific Northwest pilots.

In episode 6 we meet John Hubbard. John tells us about Nanaimo Airport and what has become of the fees the airport wanted to charge. Nanaimo is also our destination of the week. You can see more about this airport at Nanaimo Airport's info page.

You can check out the Website of the Week at UND's Aerocast.

The Aerocast site was brought to our attention by our friend on the Pacific Northwest Flying forum, Bruce Williams.

Song of the week is from Lighthouse. It is called One Fine Morning.

John guided us to a terrific teaser for a documentary called The Long Way Home. It is the story about the Pacific Clipper and how it flew to safety. I can't wait to see the documentary!

The Movie of the week is The Blue Max.

Until next week, blue skies and tailwinds.

The website of the week is Places To Fly . Finally a website that allows us to look up Canadian Airports!

The Music of the week is Pink Floyd's Learning To Fly . I like the video in the link better than the original that was aired on MTV.

The Movie of the week is One Six Right . We love the history of the Van Nuys Airport. This is a movie worth watching!
