We talk about different airstrips to visit, the ups and downs of flying in the Pacific Northwest, and all the fun events you can find here! We also like to discuss aviation music, movies, books, and websites. Basically we are just a bunch of fun loving pilots that have a passion for aviation just like you!

Why Walk When You Can Fly

Welcome to our latest episode of Hangar 49.  In this show we talk about Boeing, lost airliners, and the Reno air races.  We feature a special song from Mary Chapin Carpenter, and a great airplane picture book.

A year ago, Jim and Al visited the Smokejumper Museum in Missoula, Montana.  We discovered a cool movie titled, "Red Skies of Montana."  After a year long search, we found the flick, and it's our movie of the week.

One thing is missing from this show.............Jim.  Listen carefully as Al and Tony discuss the pros and cons of this concept.

Enjoy the show and keep those cards and letters coming!

Oh...and by the way.  Listen carefully to the first couple of minutes.  Jim is having audio problems...and doesn't realize his playback is about 30 seconds delayed in his earphones.

We are back for episode 28!  (Pay no attention to the episode number on the file.  Al is so easily confused.  That's why he doesn't have an instrument rating.)

Yes...once again we forgot to mention our 1st anniversary.  Perhaps it's because we were under the spell of the Phoenix!  Enjoy this episode and thanks for listening.  Jim, Al, and Tony.

Here we go for another exciting episode.  It's number 28...and our first anniversary.  Yep, we (meaning Jim) started this podcast in February 2010.  But, do you think we remembered to mention it on the show?  Not!

Oh well.  Join Jim and Al as we trip down memory lane (Tony is missing.   Apparently he's still on a secret mission), or the lack of it.  Now...what did we talk about?
